CAMAGÜEY.- A piece of art, representative of the traditional dress Huichol and symbol of Mexican culture, enriches the collection of the project of Local initiative of Camagüey’s Carsueños, National Prize of Community Culture 2014.

The work was donated by Francisco Bruno Cartaya Machado, Phyto-therapist of the Institute of the Sport of Tijuana. The handicraft, originating in the area of Nayorit, is elaborated with care, love and dexterity by Huichol artisans, from four elements of the creation: Earth, water, air and fire.

It expresses its reverence and relationship with nature. It also reflects a history and the personal style of these artisans who inhabit the states of Jalisco, Durango, San Luis Potosí and Zacatecas.
