CAMAGÜEY.- 22 children remain admitted with active SARS-CoV 2 throughout the province, two of them under one year of age, and there are already 300 confirmed minors since the beginning of this year. All active patients are stable and with a favorable evolution, however, the data sets off alarms about the care of the smallest at home.
With the 18 reported today, the figures for the last fifteen days amount to 500 new cases, four travelers, four with an unknown source of infection and the rest confirmed contacts, which shows that the latter is still the highest risk group. More than seven thousand people have entered the province and more than 52 thousand samples have been processed so far this year.
According to Juan Jesús Llambías Pélaez, director of the Provincial Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology, there is a slight downward trend in positive cases, but it is still not possible to speak of control, as there is a group of municipalities with a very complex situation.
The incidence rate in the province continues to be high, 61.5x 10 000 inhabitants, Guáimaro 101.3 is the territory with the highest rate in the province above the municipality of Camagüey with 97.4, followed by Santa Cruz del Sur , Céspedes, Jimaguayú, Nuevitas, Vertientes, Florida, Minas and Esmeralda.
More than 201 people from Camagüey remain admitted, 166 positive and 117 travelers from abroad are isolated. Of them, the largest number are the extremes of the age groups, children and over 60 years of age, on the latter the doctor emphasized that it is the highest risk, to the point that all the deceased in the province have been 60 years or more.
