CAMAGÜEY.-The First International Meeting of Civil Engineering students, convened by the Faculty of Construction of the University of Camagüey (UC) Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz, will be held virtually from May 25 to 28 of the current year.

Cuban and foreign students of the aforementioned degree and graduates of the last two courses may participate in it, and among the topics to be discussed are modeling, experimentation, analysis of structures and elements of roads, design of structures and road works, conservation of road works and buildings.

According to the official call, announced on the website of the house of higher studies, other matters proposed for the online exchange are the evaluation of environmental impact in works, vulnerability and risk studies, traffic engineering, road safety and drainage in tracks.

The faculty of the university institution defined other topics such as alternative housing solutions, construction systems in new settlements, the production of materials, and the application of automated systems.

The submission deadline will be until April 30 and the jury will have one week to notify the selected papers, which may also refer to the management of the life cycle in the works and the participation of Civil Engineering students in tasks of social impact related to the profession.

The event is sponsored by the Honorary Chair “Dr. C. Ana Isabel Cardoso López ”and affiliate of the National Union of Architects and Construction Engineers of Cuba.

Each participant can only present one paper as main author and its members must not exceed three.
