HAVANA.- (ACN) Ciego de Avila achieved their 40th victory in the Cuban National Baseball Series after beating away 2-1 Holguin at Calixto Garcia stadium.

Raidel Martínez (3-0) earned the win and lefty Wilber Pérez (0-2) took the loss while closer José Ángel García reached his 13th save of the season, leader.

Catcher Osvaldo Vazquez hit a decisive solo homer in the 7th inning which allows him to tie as leader in that stat with his teammate Luis Moiran and Villa Clara´s Yeniet Perez, all with 12.

Granma beat 3-1 Villa Clara, breaking thus the winning streak of the Oranges which amounted to 8 consecutive wins.
Yanier González (6-3) was the winner and the loss went to Yosvani Torres (4-5) while lefty reliever Leorisbel Sánchez earned his second save.

Moreover, Camaguey managed to score four runs in the bottom of the ninth to walk-off 9-8 Matanzas at Candido Gonzalez Park. In this game there were homers by Matanzas´ William Saavedra, Yasiel Santoya and Ariel Sánchez, while Julio P. Martinez also homered for the winning side.

Reliever Frank Madam (1-2) achieved his first win of the season and closer Alexander Rodriguez (5-2) was the loser.
