CAMAGÜEY.- After a capital reparation of its facilities, the sauna and massage service in the Sports Palace Rafael Fortún Chacón will open its doors once again for the population on September 16.
The department will work from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays in both lounges. The weekends is reserved only for athletes and other in training authorized by the Provincial Sports Management. The price for the service will be of 5.00 CUP per session.
The sauna woodwork was completely replaced, the Dutch making equipment was repaired and its capacity was spread to up to eight people. The dressing rooms and the massage salon were remodeled. This last space will provide the offer of aesthetic, facial and therapeutic treatments –- with medical remission.
According to licentiate Ricardo Ferrer, specialist in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation in charge of both services, the sauna reports great benefits for the organism: “Among its main benefits it releases toxins, minerals and dead cells through the sweating, providing a soft and clean skin. It activates blood circulation and improves the heart rate; reduces stress and the chronic fatigue and promotes the cleansing of the airways”.
The specialist clarified that “people with heart problems, venous insufficiency, acute varicosities , brain circulation problems, thrombosis, glaucoma, hyperthyroidism, tumors, low blood pressure and pregnant women are advised not to use sauna”.
The sauna in the multipurpose hall will be the only one functioning in the province, since the ones in the beauty salons are broken. The reopening of these services is part of a project driven by the current Direction of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation in Camagüey to contribute to the improvement of the people health.
