HAVANA.- Cuban Minister of Culture Alpidio Alonso condemned the events that took place today in front of his entity, where a group of people gathered in a provocative attitude with the intention of staging a media show.

We will not allow them to tarnish the tribute to José Martí, he warned in reference to the commemoration Thursday of the 168th anniversary of the birth of the Cuban National Hero.

"Once again they sabotage the dialogue. The Ministry of Culture will not accept pressure from mercenaries. We revolutionaries understand reasons, not coercion. We will not allow them to tarnish the tribute of the Cuban Nation to José Martí. #Cubaesnuestra. #Martíenosotros #CubaViva," tweeted Alonso.

This new demonstration takes place on the eve of the January 28 celebration of the anniversary of Martí's birth, which this year will be online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

MINCULT ratified today in an official note its willingness to dialogue with honest creators on any issue related to the cultural policy of the Cuban Revolution, and reiterated its refusal to accept provocations or dialogue with mercenaries.
