The report, presented by the Dr. C Marcia Esther Noda Hernández, executive secretary of the Meeting of National Accreditation, before a representation of the university community and the maximum direction of the province, gathers strengths and weaknesses resultant from the evaluation to which the institution was submitted during the days from December 7th until last December 14th, with the peculiarity of doing it in the middle of the process of integration of the old head office with that of Pedagogic Sciences José Martí and of Physical Culture Manuel Fajardo.

The quality of the strategy for the process of formation of the professionals, the leadership and the cohesion with which there is taken the work of the university community, are aspects highlighted in this opportunity, in which the same way stand out the integration of its research lines in the principal economic and social programs of the province, both internal and external recognition of its study programs and its national multiawarded scientific work, both to teachers and students. Three interventions by prestigious teachers, and that of the pupil Claudia Proenza de Miranda, president of the University Student Federation (FEU), agreed on the commitment that represents the stimulus dedicated by all to the Camagüeyan people, intrinsic part of the work of the center.

In this sense Dr.Sc. Santiago Lajes Choy, presented the measures plan directed to reverse the weaknesses, among which it urges to raise substantially the index of efficiency that scarcely 50 % exceeds in the relation income-postgraduates, and the desire of intensifying the ties with the whole managerial sector of the territory for the search and solution of problems that finally redound to better outcomes for the economy and the local services.

Dr.Sc. Rodolfo Alarcón Ortiz, Ministry of the Higher Education, added to the congratulation waht this category represents for Cuba, where it is an intention that all this educational level reaches the excellence, with the rigor and the scientific nature needed.

Finally Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and first secretary in the province, showed the pride and satisfaction of this outcome, and valued of high esteem the position of the University of Camagüey for the execution of important and transcendental tasks, actions that he considers to be ascending.

The ceremony, developed in the Principal Theater of the city of Camagüey, was provided with the presentation of the spectacle “Mosaico Caribeño” in charge of the Artistic ensemble Maraguán, distinguished group of the amateur movement of the University Student Federation (FEU), national and internationally multiprizewinner during its over 30 years of existence.
