The contest honors the distinguished journalist who passed away last year, a former reporter and director at the Adelante newspaper and the Camagüey's television station, and a respected and beloved colleague in the industry.
The hypermedia journalism contest is part of the activities for the 40th anniversary of Televisión Camagüey, which includes exchanges at various institutions in the province, visits to historical sites, theoretical and professional development events, among others.
One of the announced novelties is the program Tal como somos (As We Are), which will be filmed in communities across all municipalities. It will encourage interaction between the collective and the realities of the territory and promote local television work among different audiences.
At this moment, the station is also sponsoring sound recording, camera handling, and directing courses. The first two are for graduates with a middle-level education, while the last one is for university students, all with the requirement of being under 30 years old. Interested parties can contact by calling 32 722316.
At nearly four decades, Televisión Camagüey reaffirms itself as a collective committed to the journalistic and audiovisual tradition of the medium and eternally dissatisfied, eager to continue improving its practices to meet the needs and interests of the audience in line with current trends, and its determination to showcase the day-to-day life of Camagüey and the Camagüey's inhabitants... as we are.
