CAMAGÜEY.- The new normal conditions to which the country aspires includes the incorporation of activities that were common before the COVID-19 pandemic and are now redesigned based on the hygienic measures necessary for their realization.

At a press conference, various political and mass organizations announced the face-to-face actions to be carried out since November 12 and as a greeting to the 63rd anniversary of the Revolution.

One of the most important is the resumption of the 2020-2021 school year, whose central celebration will take place at the Máximo Gómez Báez Vocational Pre-University Institute of Exact Sciences in this province and will mean the return to the classrooms of more than 42,000 students. On October 4, the boys of pre-university and polytechnic grades and terminal years had returned to the classrooms; now the 6th graders to 11th grades and between 18 and 22 will do it, the little ones from primary school and nursery schools, all after completing their vaccination schedules.

As a preamble to this great party, all weekend sports, recreational and cultural activities will take place. From Saturday the 13th the Santa Lucía beach will once again welcome the Camagüey public, with entertainment days, an exhibition of martial arts and dog sports.

Meanwhile, on Sunday 14, the grounds of the Cándido González stadium will host a sports match with the preselection of Los Toros de la Llanura; Admission will be free and the game will be broadcast by Radio Cadena Agramonte. Other sports activities and services return to their routines, such as working with grandparents' circles, state and private gyms, those known as biosaludables and Asian demonstrations.

The revival of all cultural institutions is one of the most attractive options for the Camagüey's people, with the reopening of recreational centers such as La Casa de la Trova, Alcákar, Fotograma and Caribe, next to La Patana, in Nuevitas and Mar Verde, in the Santa Lucia spa. The theaters of the Ciudad de los Tinajones also reopen, with performances this weekend at Teatro del Viento, at the “Avellaneda” and circus and magic shows, at the Teatro Principal.

Likewise, on Saturday the 13th the Camagüey Night will take place, at the Casino Campestre, and the music festival Mi Camagüey dances, at the Fairgrounds. That very site will be the space for the Craft Fair, from November 18 to 28.

Young university students are not far behind, because to the staggered presence of teaching, activities such as the celebrations for Student's Day, on November 17, are added; the University Bastion, the 20th; the evening in homage to Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, on the 25th; the 2nd International Scientific and Technological Convention of the University of Camagüey Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz and the Convention of Medical Sciences at the Carlos J. Finlay University; and several productive jobs in both Houses of Higher Studies, all as a preamble to the 99th anniversary of the University Student Federation on December 20.

There are various activities and motivations to resume presence in Camagüey, a path towards the new normal times that requires the effort of all its inhabitants.
