CAMAGÜEY.- Despite the complex epidemiological situation, none of the consultations at the Manuel Ascunce Domenech, the Ana Betancourt de Mora Gyneco-obstetrician and the Eduardo Agramonte Piña Pediatric Hospital will be suspended. Medical services, including outpatient consultations in provincial hospitals and specialists in municipalities, remain unchanged.
Lorena Reitor Landrián, deputy director of Medical Assistance of the Provincial Health Directorate, explained that those of Amalia Simoni were transferred to the polyclinics of the North health area, because that institution cares for positive and suspected COVID-19 patients, "The specialists will continue to reach the polyclinics of the municipalities; meanwhile, transportation by medibus will also remain active for all those who need to go to hospitals in the provincial capital.
Reitor Landrián emphasized the need to respect consultation hours and avoid concentrations to streamline procedures, and asked to go first of all to primary care, to avoid greater congestion of the emergency rooms of the hospital institutions. Because as long as the Octavio de la Concepción Military Hospital continues to be allocated to patients with COVID-19, like the Amalia Simoni that welcomes confirmed and suspects at higher risk, the flow to hospitals will be greater.
Primary care will remain fully operational, with all clinics open, including the nine that work extended hours. In addition to the fact that in the current phase of confrontation the doctors and nurses of the family carry out, with the support of the community and mass organizations, investigations and controls, especially travelers.
With the maintenance of all community projection consultations, the well-being of the inhabitants is ensured. Therefore, the laboratory and X-ray studies are maintained, as well as the consultations of the specialties in the municipalities.
