CAMAGÜEY - The National Association of Innovators and Rationalisers (Anir) celebrates the day of tribute to its members at present, especially with the commitment to continue adding to the economic effect on innovations, which so far this year exceeds 4,340,000 pesos.
In the Elaboration Center belonging to the Commerce and Gastronomy Company in the town of Sola, in the municipality of Sierra de Cubitas, the cassava flour machine designed by Alexis García contributes to the substitution of bread, which is scarce due to the lack of flour.
Alexis, with experiences in the production of cassava from the time when he lived in Vilató, told the Radio Cubitas station that for the preparation of the machine he used some pieces of iron, a mass of wood that a carpenter build to him and a cleats, and he already has the grill to burn the cassava.
He considers his contribution as a necessity of the moment and hopes that this production is maintained, since he assures that the cassava is guaranteed through the contracts made with various peasants who produce it.
This is an example of how the Cuban workers in the gastronomic sector are maintaining the community offerings, among which are yucca balls, small pies, papaya’s candies and syrups, all guaranteed by the quality and acceptance of the people.
Also, in the Florida Dairy Company, Luis Thompson Rivera has contributed in its 16 years of work as an electrician to guarantee the functioning of the industry that assures milk, yogurt and other food to thousands of people in that Florida municipality, Céspedes and Esmeralda.
Distinguished with the 8th of October Condition, from Anir, he currently works in the steam generator, modification and water control circuit and in the evaporative condenser that according to his statements to the radio station of the territory, it is the cooling area of the industry, very important to preserve food.
In the ice cream line, he implemented protections to avoid breakdowns and failures due to electrical faults in the system and he is satisfied that "all this brings enormous savings and substitutes imports... Thanks to these innovations, the country can go on forward ".
He highlighted the need to strengthen training, since "there is a lot of talk but no practice. The technical personnel must be trained because there is equipment of new technologies that have entered the country and breakdowns occur in them that there is no way to solve them because of a problem of knowledge. That is important, because it is not only the technical management or the highly qualified, scientific personnel, but the worker who’s needed to make everything go smooth like silk," he said.
With this purpose, the Innovators Forum was developed at the Santa Cruz Fishing and Industrial Company (EPISUR for its initials in Spanish). Three of the 11 works presented were highlighted, they are now put into practice in the entity with very good results and will participate in the event of the same type at the provincial level. Thus was emphasized by the website Radio of Santa Cruz.
One of them, in charge of Engineer Vilmeris Hernández Áreas, is committed to the recovery of a water treatment plant that was not working, whose efficiency is demonstrated by lowering the hardness levels of the vital liquid. Similarly, thanks to the inventiveness of Engineer Juan Machado, a welding plant that was abandoned for a time is now being used in different types of the metal.
In charge of the Master of Science Ricardo Muñiz was the third research, related to marketing. It is a study of product brands through a software and the advertising and promotion of existing points of sale, which since it is implemented has an increased of customers and therefore sales.
According to Daniel Marcos Martin, representative of Anir in the fishing industry and member of the National Committee of the same, people who are interested in developing some innovation that favors the best operation of EPISUR can participate in the workshops and the Forum of the entity and be rewarded depending on the quality of work.
He explained that this year they closed the day on the 23rd with the event of creative women in four modalities, where even retired women will participate with exhibitions of plastic and culinary arts, scientific works and crafts, a contest promoted with a month of anticipation through the Central of Workers of Cuba and the communication system of the company.
