CAMAGÜEY.- This week, in the province, the first phase of the study of the prevalence of the Sars Cov 2 virus in the Cuban population ended, all the PCRs were negative, so the incidence of the disease is minimal.
Initially 245 people had been conceived, but there was a family that did not want to be studied and a case could not be located. In addition to the taking of samples for the PCR test, an epidemiological survey was carried out on all of them.
On June 2, the second stage begins, since 21 days ago was the first extraction of samples in the Camagüey municipality, then it will be extended to the Florida, Minas, Najasa and Jimaguayú municipalities, as indicated in the schedule.
Two hospitalized people remain in this province, awaiting the negative PCR required for clinical discharge. While 348 are still isolation centers. Four suspected cases remain and two others are under surveillance, all admitted to the military hospital.
Juan Jesús Llambías Peláez, director of the Provincial Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology, insisted on the importance of self-investigation, through the application that allows it to be done virtually, which allows institutional monitoring of the disease for decision-making, while for families it is a complement to the research of primary care that is generally carried out in the morning.
36.5% of the population was investigated in person and 69 suspected Acute Respiratory Infections were detected, in addition, another 50 people voluntarily attended hospital centers with suspected Respiratory Infections as well.
Llambías Peláez emphasized the call to maintain sanitary measures, the use of the masks, the constant washing of the hands and the disinfection with chlorine of the surfaces.
