CAMAGUEY, Cuba, Jan 3 (ACN) The incorporation of two new tugboats in 2020 to the maritime services of the port of Tarafa, about 70 kilometers from Camaguey city, will allow for an increase in the availability of vessels for port operations and the transportation of coastal cargo.

These ships currently total five, favoring rescue tasks and also the transportation of goods, including 5,600 tons of rice for the basic basket, shipped to the port of Vita, in Holguin, eastern Cuba.

The tugboats also provide drinking water supply and help with docking maneuvers, which contributes to the income of the Basic Unit of Maritime Services of the aforementioned Camaguey port.

This Marine Services entity is in charge of supplying fuel to the ships and land means in the port, as well as dealing with oil spills, cleaning up the bay and coastal areas, and renting means for rescue and life-saving.
