CAMAGÜEY. - Susana is not a woman who sits down to look how the life happens. From her mother she inherited the force, the desire, the commitment, the optimism, the revolutionary and teaching vocation. In her, in her mom, she admits, there are all her essence, the keys of the tireless Camagüey´s woman into whom - she turned.
Susana works very much, some assure that she exaggerates, that “she let herself get away”, that she goes to “El Ganadero” shop where she works and manages-, although she is on her vacations, although it is holiday, although she could not walk on her own feet” - like when she was in wheelchair for 8 months after a car accident and she was never absent.
She is a professional teacher, but for things of life sometime after graduating, with all the honors, she stopped practicing. Then she began to work in the Department of the Interior at different areas and on having ended, she began in the system of the agriculture. This way she turned into founder of the shop of stimuli of Martí Street.
“El Ganadero is also my house. I enjoy the time in the hearth, but what I like the most in the world is the work. This for me is the first thing”. That's why, for this belonging sense, she has defended in every possible way, and efficiently, to her group and this way they managed to be out of more than 160 shops of the agriculture sector that in the country closed definitely their doors.
In one of these difficult stages, of few inputs and economic tightness, she assumed to be the assistant of cleanliness of the shop, for free and out of the working hours, and in another occasion she took charge of the breeding of 120 hens in the courtyard of the entity, to give eggs to the workpeople, to contribute to the kindergarten of the community and to the dining room of the Cattle Company Triangle Three.
“Of my big prides: the first one is to have done of this a group of work, a real family. When any of us (12 women and 5 men at present) has a problem, there we are to help. The second achievement is to support, from the foundation, the system of daily inventory, what has made possible to us to never lack anything; and the meticulous handling of the accounting”.
“These are the keys that have allowed us for 20 years to support in an uninterrupted way the condition of group National Vanguard of the Trade Union of Agricultural, Forest Workpeople and Tobacco growers (Sntaft) and be deserving from many other recognition at national level”.
“The quality of the services also is slightly distinctive of this group. Here the maxim is fulfilled: "the client has always the reason”. We attend on a very self-sacrificing sector: the farmers. We give the workpeople the possibility of buying in the period of one year if at the moment when what exists does not satisfy their needs, they can be able to return. Also we allow to come with their families”.
Susana works very much and not only in “her shop”. During the last two decades she has been supported like not professional member of the Provincial Secretariat of the Federation of Cuban Women and earlier she was, also for many years, a secretary of a block of the FMC and a area coordinator of the Committees of Defense of the Revolution.
“My love and commitment to the FMC and to the CDR, I also owe it to my mom. I remember when I was a girl and she took me to all the activities, included the voluntary works of the Mariana Grajales brigades in the agriculture”.
This vanguard woman, in addition to being Delegate to the Provincial Assembly of the People´s Power and National Vanguard worker of the (Sntaft) for 20 years in a row, she is deserving of the medalists Jesus Menéndez, Ana Betancourt and 50th Anniversary of the FMC, in addition to being part of the Book of Honor of the Camagüey´s Woman and having taken part in four congresses of the FMC, in the 1st Conference and 8th Congress of the SNTAFT and the 21st of the Head Office of Workpeople of Cuba.
Susana Pardo Rodríguez works very much, that's why she is an example. To love her is easy - they say who live together with her - and that does not mean that she lacks rigor and demand in her work, on the contrary. And neither she lacks the force and the love for heading the way of these other boys and girls (coworkers), that although they were not born of her belly, also they say to her mom.
