CAMAGÜEY.- The Organization of Pioneers José Martí (OPJM) in this province reserves for the closing of the school holidays the Provincial Festival of creation of the children's song Singing to the Sun, to be held next Friday 30 in the Principal Theater, of this city .

As stated by Litzandra Montes de Oca González, president of the OPJM in the territory, so far the participation of seven works has been confirmed, coming from the municipalities of Florida, Vertientes and Camagüey.

During the festival, to which children up to 15 years of age can present themselves, the jury composed of methodologists of cultural houses will award prizes in interpretation, composition, as well as that of popularity.

The entrance to the theater to appreciate the presentation and the awards gala, under the artistic direction of Luis Molina, will be free for all children, she said.

At the beginning of next year, the highest quality songs will participate in the national event, said Montes de Oca González.

For the Cantándole al Sol preceding, two Camagüey’s works were selected, of which one was mentioned in the composition section entitled Homage to Teresita Fernández, by the authors Rosa María Martínez and Isabel Acosta, belonging to the municipality of Florida.

The Young Communist League (UJC) and the Provincial Recreation Commission prepare the summer farewell scheduled for Saturday 31 at the Camilo Cienfuegos Amusement Park, in this city, where, in addition to the usual services of that site, the youngest will enjoy cultural activities, and varied gastronomic offers.

Meilyn Acosta Fernández, head of the Ideological Department of the Provincial Committee of the UJC, pointed out that in parallel the proposals will be maintained at the Casino Campestre, the largest urban park in Cuba that includes several recreational facilities, including parks, restaurants, and a zoo.

On the other hand, the city's nightclubs will welcome young people, and on Sunday September 1st, the Casablanca Bar will be available to teenagers, with modest prices.

In the 13 municipalities of the territory initiatives will take place in these final days of the month, according to their characteristics, which will host parks, squares, beaches, or swimming pools, as well as some popular councils to bring them closer to communities distant from the head towns.
