She would have missed this opportunity if the craft where she was that came from Cayo Romano was late. She would not had forgive it. She saw the helicopter.

Few days are missing so that there are fulfilled two decades and a half of the trip of the Historical Leader of the Revolution by the Northern Keys of the province of Camagüey, a luck because from this visit the principal ideas remained delineated for the tourist development in this extensive province with beautiful, luscious and virgin beaches.

After so many years of meeting the humble personages, in occasion of reviewing journalistically the works of an expedition of researchers of different organisms, which remained from October 1st to 8th of this proper year, realizing preliminary studies for the determination of the potentialities of the environment, never again we saw Suncia and Manolo, whom we find in La Gloria community, of the municipality Sierra de Cubitas, not very distant from the sea.

In the porche of the modest house, marked with the number 12, we improvise one of these evenings of the first days of September, a conversation with Asunción and Manolo, organized so that there have left their declarations for the posterity like a symbol of delivery and loyalty to Fidel, the Revolution and the sea.

- How do you remember that meet? I asked Suncia, today with 78 years and bothered of heart disorders.

- "I would like that it was happening again and had Fidel like in that occasion. There are persons who say: I would like to see Fidel and I say: I had him so close, in my hands. And that makes me feel happy.

- What impression caused to you because Fidel did not come dressed in olive-green?

- "He came to the house with a bathrobe with the beard wet with salt water. And when he was leaving, he said: Oops!, I have not given a farewell kiss to the lady. We yalked about some things, I did not answer certain questions, as when he wanted to know if in the house we could have an air conditioning system.

I said to myself: a wooden house with air conditioningsystem?, it seems to me that it was not possible. He also asked if we had a power station, I said yes, of gasoline, but that was in Camagüey, radio, but no TV set.

- Did you see where he bathed?

- "No. It was there in El Pino in Punta Cocina. Far from the house".

The 88th birthday of Fidel, last August 13th, outcropped in the dialogue and the lamentation of not being able to send him a telegram, as she was doing in the last times, because she could not find someone to do it from Sola, the head municipality, since mail does not exist in La Gloria community.

"I talked to him about the tide, which when there was bad weather was raising up to the house. That up to where I knew was not entering; Kate was the only cyclone that passed somewhere here for the coast. He asked how we were feeling and we said to him that we were well, happy and more with him there".

- You have not return to Cayo Cruz. Can you imagine it nowadays?

- "About it I do not know anything. The personnel of La Gloria who works there does not come to my house"

Cayo Cruz has changed. With the 43 kilometers highway that joins Jigüey beach-Cayo Romano-Cayo Cruz, constructed by the contingent Camilo Cienfuegos and joined in an important date of the Cuba´s Young Communist League (UJC): on April 4th, 1995.

Suncia says that she saw a part of this new engineering action, but not the bridges and other works, some of them damaged by the erosion, the blow of the tide and the lack of maintenance. They look for the circulation of the marine movements and the protection of the local natural ecosystem.

"So handsome and so healthy she looked", says Suncia on having revived the topic of Fidel's stay in the house and he mentioned with mischievousness that Manolo was never jeaulous.

Manuel Narciso Garcés Basulto, with his 77 years, when he joined to the conversation remembered that today he can wear shoes, all the contrary to previous years.

"Seeing Fidel was very exciting. Incredible! for us. The helicopters came and an escort said to me: Here he comes! He went to the beach and also with him Lázaro Vázquez (the first secretary of that time of the Communist Party of Cuba in Camagüey) and Manuel Chaos Piedra, member of the Provincial Bureau. The he returns. I was expecting him with the olive-green uniform. Inside the house he embraced me, he was like two hours speaking about the highway that they were going to construct.

"In the kitchen, he said to me: you are going to have many friendly here with more than eighty trucks. And it was like that: a few days later on September 29th they kicked off to come".

They smile on remembering that on October 1st came those who were going to study the place, of how they established to live provisionally there, and many other things.

The reunion was an unforgettable evening with Suncia and Manolo accompanied by the coffee they remember the last times that have seen Fidel in television, when the visit of the president of China, with Maduro and the contact with the children.

"If they were taking me to where he is, I would go crazy. In the telegrams that we were sending to him we were writing: the Cayo Cruz elders!".
