In 1956 we will be free or we will be martyrs, expressed Fidel, and these words were a mockery object by officers of the oppressive regime, therefore years later the Leader of the Revolution was commenting: "... it was discussed by many persons why we had promised to come to Cuba in a practically fixed term. And the fact is that the state of mind of many in our country, result of frustrations and tricks of the traditional politicians, had gone so far as to create certain skepticism; and also big efforts were not done on the part of the interests to maneuver politically, to come to political agreements with the tyranny of Batista and to drown the faith of the people in the revolutionary struggle". Hence the urgency.

Many were the days dedicated to every detail of the arrangements of the expedition; the purchase of the Granma yacht, the training of the expedition members, their discipline and motivations for the ideological strengthening, the aspirations and postulates that was containing the Necessary War; neither the mishaps were small during the passage after the exit of Tuxpan on November 25th, the news listened on the radio on the upraising the 30th in Santiago de Cuba was exasperating, and then the odyssey of the proper landing came on December 2nd.

Fidel had been precise with the 82 revolutionaries regarding the moral principles of the future actions. Passed two years and 29 days, in which the way subscribed with the blood of hundreds of combatants, the victory was won and with it the prediction of the Commander was fulfilled.

Today, for satisfaction and pride of the Cuban, Fidel continues like the paradigm of the battle that faces the world before the threat of disappearing due to a nuclear war without precedents, or the destruction of the ecological system of the planet.
