Camagüey.- The atomic bombs fell down on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but the hope survived its incurable wounds. Camagüey.- Every Cuban older than 50 years is aware of the "discotembas" (discos for the olders), activated this summer, when more visitors flow to our city. It is a pleasure to come to one of these places, for the warmth of the associates to the clubs of the Década Prodigiosa, and because there the pocket allows to drink a pair of cold beers, have a dance, and remember or forget some past.

Camagüey.- When passing by the ancient Encanto cinema, today headquarters of the  International Festival of Video Art of Camagüey (FIVAC), people stop to see through its windows. Since, there are beautiful furniture, some  flat screens and air conditioning system inside, nobody dares to cross the doors because they fear that they have to pay in CUC to enter.

Camagüey.- When one speaks about Cuban movies, a button activates iconic flashes in our mind: the constrictive hug of Diego and David in Fresa y Chocolate, the facial scream of clandestine Isabel Santos before her dead love or the sharp look of Corrieri looking down over Havana with his telescope.

Camagüey.- We do not know for sure how the tradition of the San Pedro (popular parade in which a doll resembling San Pedro accompanied by his widows, is burned) started in Camagüey as part of the San Juan (local carnival). The fact is that it has become a very important attraction in our city.

Camagüey.- The Camagüeyan Folk Ballet will be one of the guests to the 4th International Dance Festival in Palmira, Colombia, which will take place next June 24 to 29th, within the frame of the International Festival of Culture Ricardo Nieto and the festivities for the 242nd anniversary of the city of Palmira.

Camagüey.- June returns as usual with the joy of the San Juan Camagüeyano (local carnival), that from 24th to 29th will amuse the locals and visitors.
