CAMAGÜEY.- The Camagüey's Culture Week will have a single dedication. This is the city built over time, with the starting point being the founding of the Villa de Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe on February 2nd, 1514.

From the first to the 7th of next month, a program in theaters, other institutions, parks, streets and communities will shine the city with the protagonism of inhabitants and guests, among them, from Nuevitas, where the site of the first settlement that allows show off the number of the 510th anniversary.

At a press conference, the anniversary organizing committee presented the coordinates of actions and actors to embroider the tapestry contained in the slogan of the communication campaign "Camagüey, pride that defines us."

The productive, economic, social and political tone of the commemoration was insisted upon due to the promotion of 248 construction works, such as the comprehensive intervention of the José Martí polyclinic, the La Piazza pizzeria and the Teatro Principal square, chosen for the opening gala in the night of the first day.

The Coppelia park will be ready with the use of new technologies and renewable resources. Right there there will be a large LED screen with information updated every day related to the Week's billboard.

The delivery of the 510 Distinction, the solemn assembly, the agricultural fair on Liberty Avenue, gastronomic and service initiatives, concerts, visual arts exhibitions, spaces for writing and research will contribute to the map of virtues and potentialities for the progress of the territory.

The Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets will propose the FENAR Camagüey 2024 art and crafts fair with the participation of 22 exhibitors from Peru, Mexico, Panama, Russia and Cuba. The Fairgrounds will appear as the nerve center, although it will expand throughout the city through two cultural corridors.

The 15th International Symposium on Challenges in the Management of Cities will also have an international character; while Radio Camagüey, under the pretext of its 20 years, will expand the scope of its annual event, also fueled by the centenary of the medium's first broadcasts here, which occurred on January 16.

The reading of the Bando from a balcony of the municipal government headquarters by President Dixamy Rodríguez, will officially mark the opening of the Week, from 9:00 p.m. She herself confirmed it by also calling to enjoy with culture and discipline a Week designed to share with identity and maintain roots.
