CAMAGÜEY.- The 44th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema had an extension to this city, from December 11 to 15, with a selection of classic and award-winning films in other editions.

The Nuevo Mundo Audiovisual Complex offered sessions at 1:30 p.m. and at 4:00 p.m., and included a cyber-gathering on the 14th with the critic Juan Antonio García Borrero and the topic of the identity of the region's cinema in the 21st century.

 The institution confirmed on social networks that the films were also projected in spaces in the municipalities of Florida, Vertientes and Sierra de Cubitas.

 The 44th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana makes 199 films from twenty countries available to viewers, until December 17.

In the official selection is the short film Your star, by the young Henry De Armas, a resident of the province, who made the production in alliance with the Animation Studios of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (Icaic).

In the Animation category, the other work produced by the Studios is the feature film Fernanda and the strange case of the message to Figueroa, directed by Mario Rivas, creator of a popular character who for 20 years has won the sympathy of children.

The Latin American and Caribbean Animation Forum “Juan Padrón in Memoriam” was dedicated to the opportunities and challenges in the regional context, from December 9th to 11th at the Icaic Animation Studios.

 This year, the Havana Film Festival adopted the slogan “Green Light: Action!”, and included the competition of 30 posters from ten countries and 231 scripts that also aspire to the Coral Award.

A delegation from Camagüey participated in the collateral programming with a display of El Almacén de la Imagen, an audiovisual event founded by the Hermanos Saíz Association in 1991 and with permanent headquarters in the territory.
