CAMAGÜEY.- Art schools in this city resume the annual festival that they suspended when the COVID-19 pandemic broke out. They promise from November 13th to 17th an event balanced in thought and creation.

With the slogan "Young art for peace", the 11th Arts Festival is dedicated to José Antonio Chávez, National Dance Prize winner; to the playwright José Rodríguez Lastre, to the painter Joel Jover and to International Student Day.

It will begin with a parade at 9:00 a.m. from the Vicentina de la Torre academy to Agramonte Park where, starting at 10:00 a.m., they will offer the opening show Voices for Peace, in solidarity with the people of Palestine.

The festival venues will be the José Luis Tasende cultural center, the Avellaneda and Principal theaters, the Vicentina de la Torre Academy of Arts, the José White Conservatory of Music and the Luis Casas Romero Vocational School of Art.

"The students' works went through a curatorial committee, because we will put them in the community," organizer and theaterologist Leonardo Leyva commented at a press conference, insisting on the rigor that supports the event and also on the enthusiasm of students and teachers, thanks to the return of the festival.
