CAMAGÜEY.- With the purpose of analyzing the weaknesses, strengths and evaluating the projections of work for the current year, the Provincial Council of the José Martí Art Instructors Brigade (BJM) met with the participation of the highest authorities of that organization, at the territorial and national level.

One of the opinions issued in plenary session was that of Nicolay Gutiérrez Pupo, president of the cultural movement in the municipality of Jimaguayú, who considered vocational training and the preparation of those secondary school students who wish to join this noble job".

Henry de Armas Leiva, former president of the BJM (forma its acronym in Spanish), in this territory, noted in that space that "we have a universe of young people who no longer work as instructors, but from the brigade they can continue contributing to the culture in the region." He also pointed out that current times demand new methods to transmit the artistic work to the different generations of Cubans.

Other issues were also addressed at the meeting, such as the essential role of brigade members in the fight against processes of cultural domination, the support of institutions for the development of these professionals, and experiences were shared to better socialize their work from cities and distant communities, and those in transformation.

On the need not to forget the roots and spirituality of the BJM, its president in the country, Emilio Toledo Mirabal, abounded: "We must see ourselves as a family in which respect, unity and timely communication must prevail to solve the difficulties and come to an understanding. You proved to be an example for our youth when you gave your disposition and supported the control of the pandemic in the red zones and isolation centers.

The Director of Education in Camagüey, Mercedes Escuredo Olazábal, attended the meeting, who highlighted the positive impact of the instructors' program in society for "instilling knowledge and sensitivity", while the head of the Culture Sector in the region highlighted the “deferred efforts to carry out quality community work. I call on you to continue improving yourself and thus you will reap more achievements”.

Before concluding the plenary, the BJM recognized institutions that have contributed to its development and actions in the province and a special award was granted to Armando Gallo Piñeiro, president of the movement, in the territory, and to the head of teaching technical services, Archimedes Malpica Mederos.

The settlement of Camagüey has 722 brigade members and the day before, among other activities, the actions of the Provincial Council began with a discussion on the life and work of the National Hero of Cuba, José Martí Pérez. The BJM, arose on October 20th, 2004, within the framework of the Battle of Ideas, made up of graduates of the School of Arts Instructors, with the purpose of providing knowledge to build a more educated nation.
