CAMAGÜEY.- The City's Theater Event, designed as an extended version from January to June of the 18th Edition of the Camagüey National Theater Festival, will begin from the 20th to the 25th of this month.
Here, the actress Verónica Lynn, National Theater Award and personality who heads the dedication of the event together with the creation of the puppet groups in Cuba, will receive a tribute.
The public will be able to enjoy three shows of the so-called central sample of the Festival that was to take place at the end of 2022 but it was not possible, according to directors of the National Council for the Performing Arts.
The show Sinfonía Con-De-Nada, by Kike Quiñones with the Camagüey Symphony Orchestra, is announced from 20 to 23 at the Principal Theater at 9:00 p.m. On Tuesday the 17th, ticket sales began there, at 100 pesos per person.
Also Nave Oficio de Isla Comunidad Creativa, directed by Osvaldo Doimeadiós, will present two works at the headquarters of the Contemporary Ballet of Camagüey. In that case, it costs 50 pesos per person and can be purchased at the Avellaneda Theater box office, starting Tuesday the 17th.
The Doimeadiós project proposes Oficio de Isla, for days 21 and 22, at 5:00 p.m.; and Luz, January 24 and 25, at the same time, in the building located at Cisneros street no. 258 between Hermanos Agüeros and General Gómez.
The City's Theater event includes a theoretical event, scheduled at the Vicentina de la Torre Academy of Arts, and other cultural actions such as the opening of the scenic design exhibition Del saffron to lily, with works by Jesús Ruiz, on Friday 20 at 9:30 a.m. in the Jorge Santos Gallery of that school.
The event will bring together specialists based on the exchange from a critical position, based on the projection of audiovisuals, promotion of publications such as the magazine Tablas and the workshop "Theatrical Texts and Representations: The Construction of the Critical Look" with the theatrologist Eberto García Abreu.
