CAMAGÜEY.- Donations to centers to fight COVID-19 in Camagüey, made by creators and workers of the subsidiary of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets (FCBC) are estimated at more than one million 140 thousand pesos.

The contribution consists of works of plastic arts, face masks, personal beds and other pieces of furniture, dolls, serum holders, cleaning supplies, setting with graphic material; the placement of a false ceiling and shelving, and the restoration of a sculpture of the Pediatric Hospital of the province.

This contribution corresponds to the national call for the campaign "For Cuba: With all the forces from the Fund of my heart", promoted by the headquarters of this socialist state company belonging to the Ministry of Culture.

Belkis Cruz Saragoza, director of the FCBC affiliate, praised the attitude of artists, artisans and the workforce since the beginning of the pandemic, when offering personal goods, raw materials and production to public health institutions and workers from other sectors.

She took advantage of an exchange with the press to recognize the Union of Journalists of Cuba (Upec) in Camagüey for the performance of its members despite the complexity of the epidemiological situation, and handed over 200 face masks to the membership.

In addition to the donation, the journalist Yuldys Márquez Díaz, president of the organization in the territory, received the distinction For the paths of Agramonte, conferred to the Upec by the Secretariat of the Provincial Committee of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba.

Cruz Saragoza commented on the relationship of her company with other forms of non-state management, she pointed out the export projects among the challenges; and she highlighted the good step with the fulfillment of the 2021 plan, by entering 60 million pesos so far, equivalent to 158% of what is planned for the moment.

Beatriz Ochoa Pupo, specialist in Development and Image of the FCBC affiliate, announced the Fidel y la Cultura Conference, from August to November; the opening in September of the El Orbe store; and other actions that include more donations.
