CAMAGÜEY. - Furniture has been, more than the ceramics, the declaration with major impact of the proposals of Camagüey in the International Fair of Craft FIART, and this December also it promises to raise its successful presence in Havana.

The brothers Juan Carlos and Alberto Cabalé take chairs; Hosvani Candell and René Calvo, a set of armchairs; Ernesto Casas Martín, a marabou with metal project; and Rolando Torres Peláez, a set of armchairs of fiber with blanket.

Of a ceramists family, young Marlon García dares with furniture of metal and wood with painting with the majolica ware technique; while for the first time Oscar Gutiérrez and Alexander Romero, who conceived furniture for outside locations, will join the others.

Beatriz Ochoa Pupo, specialist in Development and Image of the branch of the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets in Camagüey, told Adelante Digital of the expectations with the furniture contest for taking useful pieces, of attractive designs and good achievement.

In addition, they will offer different crafts, in which they give priority to the techniques of rakú, enameling, to graffito with cold and “esgrafiado”, all available in the Fortaleza San Carlos de La Cabaña, headquarter of FIART 2018.

The 22nd Fair of Craft will happen from December 6 until December 21, with the motto Art, utility and office, it is dedicated to the province Villa Clara, privileges to the furniture as handmade declaration and it will have Mexico as Guest of Honor country.

Ochoa Pupo also announced the sample parallel to the event, entitled Arte, office, with a trip for 30 years of craft in Camagüey, as celebration of three decades of the branch of the Cuban Fund of Cultural Assets, from December 7 at 4:00 p.m., in the Gallery Amalia, of this city.
