The senior level for artistic education in Camagüey opened on September 13, 1989. It functioned as a teaching unit with four guitar students. At present, it is a subsidiary with three careers and high goals.

The Cuban Ministry of Culture of Cuba today awarded Cuban actress Corina Mestre with the national prize of the artistic education, by the merits achieved in the work done as an actress and teacher for other actors.
