She is a member of the Sociocultural Project of Miniaturist Art of Camagüey “Colibrí“ that already has with 6 years of experience. This initiative, integrated by over 60 creators, takes as the director the outstanding visual artist Nazario Salazar Martínez, who in this occasion served as curator and museographer.
On having accepted the invitation of honoring by his work to José Martí, Eva not only honored the 160th anniversary of the birthday of the Cuban national hero and the 55th of artistic life of the versatile director of the event, but she made use of the opportunity to set up “Meñique“, the novel section of work of the project that will present miniaturist samples of small format as alternative to the art.
The patchwork or ¨roparche¨, as it is known in Cuba, relies on with a big tradition and history, since already since the XVIIth century its use was known. These pieces, created joining fragments of cloth of different sizes and colors, were named firstly like ¨almazuelas¨ and ¨quilts¨, but then they were catalogued even like carpets and sheets of cat, due to the uses they received.
In the exhibition hall of the Museum Casa Natal del Mayor Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz the presence of the M.Sc. Marisela Valido Portela, president of the Camagüeyan subsidiary of the Cultural Society José Martí, and of several representatives of the Communist Party of Cuba in the province, among other invited persons, were the suitable public for the date.
