HAVANA.- Deputies to the National Assembly of People’s Power  begin today in Santiago de Cuba, in union with their colleagues at Guantánamo, the first territorial video conferences on the bills of National Symbols and Fishing.

In the presence of guests also, tomorrow will be in Holguín with Las Tunas and Granma; on the 29th, with Camagüey-Ciego de Ávila; the 30th to Sancti Spíritus-Villa Clara-Cienfuegos; on April 2 to Havana-Matanzas-Mayabeque and Isla de la Juventud, and on April 3 to Artemisa and Pinar del Río, always in the first of the aforementioned groups of territories.

The first evaluations of this type took place on March 7th in the Capitol of Havana, where Esteban Lazo Hernández, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Governing body, said that an intense legislative exercise comes after the popular referendum last February for the new Constitution of the Republic, when nearly seven million citizens ratified it.

At the same season, José Luis Toledo Santander, president of the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Affairs, offered details about the draft National Symbols Act, five titles and 76 articles, including the Flag of the Lonely Star, the Anthem of Bayamo and the Royal Palm Shield.

Toledo Santander announced the program of similar video-conferences in the provinces of the country and confirmed that the projects are in the profiles and official sites of the National Assembly of Popular Power, so that the people opine and participate in the final elaboration of both laws, on page http://www.parlamentocubano.gob.cu/.
