About 250 Cuban health professionals and nearly 400 foreign experts from Mexico, Argentina, Guatemala, Panama, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, United States, Angola, and World Orthopedics Society representatives will attend the scientific meeting.

Doctor Rodrigo Álvarez Cambras, director of the “Frank País” International Orthopedic Scientific Complex, explained that the use of external fixators, lower limbs deformities, as well as the shoulder, elbow, and knee arthroscopy are some of the topics that will be treated in the Conference.

He also added that the agenda will include other matters referred to the pediatric surgery, trauma to the spine, minimally invasive reconstructive, and complaints of the hip.

As part of the scientific program, the VI Meeting Cuba-Mexico will be carried out. There will be a trade fair of foreign companies who produce surgical sets of instruments, technology and mechanical devices used in the patients´ rehabilitation.

Currently, Camagüey shows presently achievements in the diagnosis and the attention of sufferings like the knee arthritis, complaints of the spine and wear of the femoral head.

Last year, the first hip prosthesis implantation of the type RALCA was carried out. This constitutes a never-before-seen fact that confirms the talent of Camagüey´s doctors who work in this field.
