“The principal challenge that we have today consists of extending the formation of the students of pedagogics and of the teachers who, already in the classrooms of primary and secondary, receive the children from our schools, so that they are not pushed back and have the knowledge necessary to offer them a differentiated attention”, said to Adelante Dagoberto Hidalgo Basulto, director of the provincial Center of attention to the sensory disability Antonio Suárez .

He also highlighted the importance of achieving a full mastery of the diagnosis and of the potentialities of the pupils to establish the corrective-compensatory work of each of the specialties, and to guarantee this way the successful inclusion in the society.

“That's why the emphasis of the new politics on the self-training of the pupils, responsible for the quality of the teaching-educational process and the exchange with the family and the community”, he said.

The special education in Cuba is provided with specific subjects according to the skills development for a full incorporation to the social life, but without doubts, the respect, the tolerance and comprehension to the disabled persons is an imperative.
