CAMAGÜEY. -An important investor program implements the Office of the Historian of the City of Camagüey (OHCC) to improve the infrastructure conditions and provide a greater variety of services in the oldest segment of this city, which next February 2nd arrives to the 505th  anniversary of its founding.

The rehabilitation and the change of use of real properties will endow the city of Tinajones with spaces that will give greater beauty and functionality to the urban environment, as well as the strategy to maintain the attributes that earned it to a segment of its historical center the condition of World Heritage Site since July 2008.

The first stage of the fairgrounds, the  musical recording studio, San Juan de Dios museum and hotel and the Alkazar recreational cultural center are some of the works that will demand the effort of Camagüey’s companies and constructors entities from the present month and until February 2019.

According to José Rodríguez Barreras, director of the OHCC, the program that currently undergoes the specialized forces of the institution is wide, always with the support of the experts, to achieve the renovation of the spaces without losing their identity values.
