CAMAGÜEY.- More than 7300 family centers are served by Social Assistance in this province, which benefits around 11 thousand people.

Niurka Caballeros Argilagos, deputy director of the Provincial Directorate of Labor and Social Security, said that 2975 seniors receive services from grandparents' homes and nursing homes.

In addition, social service is included at home, aimed at older adults who have restricted mobility and can fend for themselves, but with difficulty.

Caballero Argilagos said that the disabled are part of this program, which includes more than 1,900 people. Law 105 of Social Security also benefits more than 250 mothers who receive a salary for the care of their children with severe disabilities.

The official pointed out that there is a budget, which is allocated annually, to help the families of all municipalities in the territory with supplies, kitchen utensils, shoes, clothes and sheets among other items.

Another important group that covers Social Assistance corresponds to children with behavioral disorders or dysfunctional families, who are given special treatment, as well as the subsidy of the seminar.

Despite the economic blockade and imperial threats, the Cuban State maintains the principle of leaving no one helpless; that is why the Provincial Department of Labor and Social Security in Camagüey works to guarantee the preservation of life and health, education and social security of the population.
