CAMAGÜEY.- Delegates from Chile, Mexico, Ecuador, Uruguay, Honduras, Panama, Colombia, Argentina and Cuba will engage in the IX International Congress of Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism, in Santa Cecilia Convention Center, in this city, from November 13 to 15, under the principle: Nutritional support from the fist stages of life and in the most vulnerable groups in special situations.
According to the information offered by MSc. Dr. Alexis Culay Pérez, president of the Camaüeyan Chapter of the Cuban Society of Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (SOCNU, Spanish Acronym), the 35 foreign participants and 250 Cubans, will discuss and debate topics related to Food engineering, Pediatrics, Surgery, Surgery and Therapy, Primary Heath care, Gerontology- Geriatrics, Oncology, Adult, Infirmary, Pharmacy and Stomatology, with the objective of creating strategies of food-nutritional interventions able to favor patients in health care centers.
SOCNUT is a member of the Latin American Federation of Nutritional Therapy, Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (FELANPE, Spanish acronym), with the precept of creating the conditions to guarantee the evaluation and assurance of the quality of the food-nutritional cares of the hospitalized patient in the entire continent, according to the website of the Cuban Society of Nutrition in Institutions.
The video room in the Carlos J. Finlay University of Medical Science, and the theater in the University Hospital Manuel Ascunce Domenech, will receive indistinctly the courses before congress, from November five to 12, with topics such as: Novelties of Fat Tissue, Nutrition in Chronic Kidney Disease, Updates in nutrition in pediatric ages aimed at infirmary professionals, Nutrition of critical patients, Nutrition of Dermatology Diseases, Perioperative Nutrition, Why your child eats worst than you know?, Nutrition and Endocrinopathies, and all of them presented by Camagüeyan professionals of high scientific level.
