CAMAGÜEY.- As a prelude to the 13th Nicolás Guillén International Festival and Colloquium, the newspaper Adelante shares from today snapshots of photojournalists who focused here on the National Poet of Cuba.
Daicar Saladrigas González, director of the media outlet, said that from this collaboration motivated by Juan Antonio García, she identifies more than one mystery to unravel in the newspaper's relationship with Guillén, and the importance of promoting a public registry for the investigation in web.
The photos are exhibited in the QR Gallery of the Nuevo Mundo Audiovisual Complex. Taking advantage of the local and free connection, the public can access and download the information from the newspaper, related to visits to the city in 1972 and 1982.
The opening of the exhibition was part of the pre-event of the Nicolás Guillén Foundation, prior to its Colloquium and Festival planned in this city from July 7 to 10, as a celebration of the 120th anniversary of the birth here of the author of Elegía camagüeyana.
Also in Nuevo Mundo, Juan Antonio García promoted the pages of the Digital Encyclopedia of the Cuban Audiovisual (Endac) with references to the National Poet.
The pre-event included the exhibition Blanco y Negro, by the plastic artist Oscar Rodríguez Lasseria at the Iris Art Studio, with a performance with the soloist Liudmila Pardillo together with the guitarist Michel Hernández; and a gala by the Camagüey Ballet at the Teatro Principal, under the artistic and general direction of Regina Balaguer.
In the case of Adelante, its call for the first Nicolás Guillén Chronicle Contest also stands out, the result of which will be made public on July 11 at the Casa de la Prensa Camagüeyana, during the delivery of the Pisto Manchego Prize conferred by the Union of Journalists of Cuba in Camagüey for the work of the year.
