CAMAGÜEY. - Despite of being an event for students, the13th National Universiade (the World University Games) , - from the 24 to the 28 – is taking place in this city, it does not have anything "obliging": the presence of several national teams' athletes, and of others that they compete at the first level in their respective provinces, which allows to anticipate days full of sports rivalry.

“Somehow it will be a kind of Olympiad of the Cuban Sport”, anticipates Francisco Ruiz Martínez, dean of the faculty of Physical Culture in the University Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz, the organizer of the Games.

In his support there is information as the fact that the University of Sciences of the Physical Culture and the Sport of the capital has registered under its flags the majority of the members of the Cuban teams of eight sports in calendar, or that from provinces like Pinar del Río many of the newly titled monarch team from the masculine baskets in the Island arrive.

The biggest expectations of Camagüey are centered on the teams of baseball and basketball, which count with several of the habitual players in the payrolls of Bulls and Tigers, and they will have to be included in any prognosis facing the medals discussion.

This is also the way of thinking of Juan Mapolón, the technical director of the Panthers in the last editions of the Top League for women, who for weeks leads the trainings of the representation of the University of Camagüey. “We expect great rivalry, especially in the parties against selections that come practically with the regular teams of the Top League of Basketball”.

The 13^th National Universiade develops its actions until next Friday, with activity in stages like the stadium Cándido González, Rafael Fortún, the Auditorium Iván Hidalgo Funes and the Palace of the Sports.
