HAVANA.- (acn) The Cuba Domadores will begin to defend their crown when receiving the Venezuela Caciques on February 3rd during the opening weekend of the 7th World Series of Boxing (WSB), announced with news that would allow the current champion to host the final.

There will be 12 teams this time, mostly distributed by geographical areas for an eliminatory segment that will facilitate the transit of the monarchs through group A, which also includes the Argentina Condors and the México Guerreros.

The information released by the organizers says that Pool B includes Morocco Atlas Lions, Italy Thunder, France and British Lionhearts, and Group C has as contenders the Russia Boxing Team, China Dragons, Kazakhstan Astana Arlans and Uzbek Tigers.

The qualifying stage will run until April 22nd and the top two teams from each pool will directly advance to the quarterfinals, from May 12 to 19, phase also attended by the best two third seats of each group.

Semifinals will take place from June 2 to 9, while the grand final will be from June 23 to July 1st.

The biggest peculiarity is that the event will keep the home-and-away matches system for a total of 10 bouts (C-1 and C-2), which implies that both finalists will share the benefit of showing themselves before their fans.

For the Cuba Domadores, winners in the seasons four and six and runners up in the fifth, this would be the first opportunity to count in the final with the support of their fans at the Havana City Sports Coliseum, a headquarters where they are more than lethal.
