ESMERALDA, CAMAGÜEY.- The Esmeralda team defeated this morning their similar Carlos Manuel de Céspedes in the fifth match of the final of the 43th Provincial Series of Camagüey Baseball, a result that served them to crown for the eighth time in the history of these encounters.

The Wolves came to their burrow, the Gelasio Gutiérrez Stadium of Batey Jaronú, a step away from the title and they got it in the first clash of the program with four-race marker for three. The most close clash of the final was decided in the last inning by a grand slam of theEsmeralda’s fourth bat Pedro Smith, who until that time had not contributed much to the offensive.

It was an excellent baseball game in which both teams connected eight indisputable and to the defense only the Cañeros made a mistake.
