HAVANA.- Cuban Freddy Asiel Alvarez had to wait for his third start in the Major National Championship of the Panamanian Professional Baseball to achieve his first victory.

He had good performances in his previous two outings, with five innings each time, but he remained winless with one loss.

The Cuban right-hander pitched eight innings in the 4-3 win of the Herrera Toros over the Caballos de Coclé allowing three runs and six hits, with six strikeouts and one walk.

After this performance, Alvarez has balance of 1-1, with ERA of 2.00, while his opponents only bat for .243 and amounts 13 strikeouts in 18 innings, with two walks and has also hit two batters with his pitches.

His teammate, Yosvani Alarcon, hit 2 for 3 with a walk in that game. The Cuban catcher now has a fabulous offensive line (AVE / OBP / SLU) of 393/431/489, with ten runs scored and five doubles, co-leader in this last stat.
