HAVANA.- Rey Vicente Anglada, manager of the Cuban national baseball team, will start the training today of the 63 summoned players at Havana´s Latinoamericano stadium.
Along with his coaching staff, Anglada will have the mission to achieve the best results with the Cuban team that will attend the Pan American Games of Lima, Peru, and the Premier 12 Tournament, qualifier for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
According to what was released, the wide pre-selection will work for two weeks in the Cuban capital to then start a crucial route that will begin with 25 days of altitude training on Mexican soil.
They will return on May to Havana to continue their preparation and it´s expected the holding of several warm-up matches, according to Yovany Aragon, local national baseball commissioner.
On June, and after making a substantial cut in the squad, they will attend the Can-Am League where they will play 15 games, to then travel to the United States for the celebration of the traditional Cuba-USA match, from July 2 – 7, in several American cities.
