HAVANA.- With the aim of signing a Sports Collaboration Agreement, Mario Augusto Perez, General Director of the Panamanian Institute of Sports (PANDEPORTES by its Spanish acronym), started today an official visit to Cuba.

Upon arrival at Jose Marti International Airport, the visitor and the delegation accompanying him were received by PhD. Antonio Becali, president of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER by its Spanish acronym), and they exchanged about the wide possibilities to increase bilateral collaboration.

Perez said that they are interested in the exchanges in the training of coaches, preparation of teams and athletes, sports medicine and in the anti-doping fight, among other areas, in order to promoting the development of sport in the two nations.

"Cuba is very advanced in sports and physical culture, so we have come here once again to receive its teachings to apply them in Panama and at the same time, they can take advantage of our advanced infrastructure," he noted.

In addition to the signing of the aforementioned agreement, the Panamanian executive will hold next Wednesday a working meeting with Israel Perera, General Director of CUBADEPORTES Company.

His three-day visit to Cuba will also include a visit to the Community Physical Activity Project "Por la Vida" at Havana´s Ho Chi Minh Park as well as tours to other sport centers and institutions.
