HAVANA, CUBA.-Cuban beat Anguilla 4-0 and, with 10 points, led Group A of the Caribbean Zone of the 2018 CONCACAF Women's Soccer Championship qualification, which took place at the Dominican Republic.

Cuba was led again by its lethal striker Rachel Pelaez, who scored twice,while the other goals were scored by attacking midfielder Maria Luisa Perez and left winger Francis Riquelme, according to the official website of the tournament.

The Cuban side finished the contest undefeated, with balance of three wins and a draw and was followed by Puerto Rico with 8 units, DR (7), Aruba (3) and Anguilla (0).

In their debut, they scandalously thrashed 11-0 Aruba and then won 5-1 over the Dominican Republic; in the third match they tied 2-2 to Puerto Rico, to then finish with this other thrash over Anguilla.

Cuba´s Pelaez and Perez, along with Puerto Rican Micaela Castain, were the group scoring leaders all with five goals.

With this result they advanced to a final round, in place yet to be defined, which will include the leaders of the four remaining pools of the area, event that will grant three tickets to the final tournament, to be held in USA and attended by eight squads, which will in turn offer three berths to the World Cup of France 2019.
