HAVANA.- Granma managed to tie 2-2 the grand final of the 57th Cuban National Baseball Series when beating 4-2 Las Tunas last night.

Las Tunas was winning 2-1, but on bottom of the eighth frame, their defensive collapsed by making three errors that helped their opponent scoring thrice.

The win went to lefty reliever Leandro Martinez when pitching two scoreless innings and Raidel Martinez earned the save; while closer Jose Angel Garcia took the loss after allowing two runs, with two hits and a walk, in a third of an inning.

The best batters of both sides were the two leadoff-hitters and centerfielders Yunieski Larduet and Roel Santos, who both hit 3 for 3.

We should also highlight the performance of Granma´s 3B Lazaro Cedeño, homerun leader of the tournament, who was in the bench in the first two games; Las Tunas won both, and after his inclusion in the line-up has batted 4 for 7 in the 3rd and 4th matches.

The fifth game of the final will be today and Granma´s starter will be left-hander Ulfrido Garcia, while Pablo Civil, Las Tunas´ manager, didn´t announce his starting pitcher.
