Perhaps, if you ask to any Cuban about the most clear or popular example of it, will be the services Nauta and the public points of access to Internet across the technology Wi-fi. Nevertheless, it goes much further.

According to declarations of Wilfredo González Vidal, vice-minister of telecommunications of Cuba, to the program Mesa Redonda, among the principal steps of the national strategy for the impulse to the computerization of the society are to organize the industry of computer applications, aligned to the national priorities; to keep on extending the capacities for the access to Internet; to develop the telecommunications infrastructure and to extend the bandwidth in the country so that the population perceives quality in the service, which will depend on the financial capacity; and to group the professionals of the sector for their attention and motivation across the process that develops at present of creation of the Union of Computer Programmers of Cuba.

As for the access to Internet, he informed that from the process of enlargement of the capacities kicked off in July, 2013, today 600 navigation rooms work in the country with over three million users who have access to the network of network for this route, in addition to the million Nauta users and other thousands of professionals of the culture, the health, the education and the science that were already having access for several years like priority sectors for the nation.

Among other priorities he mentioned, the bank activity for its high impact in the population from its multiple services, among which there stand out the new 141 ATMs installed in 2015, fo a total of 746 in 53 municipalities; the service of telephone banking, with a big acceptance; the remote banking, which enables to consult the accounts from any place and extends its employment especially among the new forms of economic management; and the magnetic cards, of which work approximately 2.4 millions in the whole country.

Over 30 000 magnetic cards operate in Camagüey and facilitate the bank operations in Cuban and convertible pesos, and the buy in shops, in addition to those of foreign signatures, like VISA, that realize operations of foreign currency to Cuban Convertible Currency (CUC).

The automation of the public records so that from this primary information to offer better services to the population, the widening of the digital television and its development were another matters tackled by the vice-minister in the Mesa Redonda, where he also mentioned the network Infomed, the new services of the Community Computer Clubs, the investments to improve the infrastructure of telecommunications, the development of the software and the Cuban cybersafety strategy.
