The statement was made by Latin American and Caribbean Continental Student Organization president Ricardo Guardia Lugo, who demanded Panamanian authorities they were expelled from the event, adding Rodriguez had been involved in the invasion to Playa Girón (1961), weapons and drug trafficking, and the support to counterrevolutionary actions in Nicaragua.

"The most painful and outrageous for us is his involvement, supported by the CIA, in the assassination of Che Guevara in Bolivia", he stressed.

The statement expresses disgust by the presence of individuals like Rodríguez Mendigutía in Panamá to meet "traitors that inexplicably have been accepted in the civil society forum to give opinions about the future of our homeland".

In addition, the statement demands that "the mercenaries immediately leave the event", which begins today.

The Cuban delegation attending the summit in Panama denounced yesterday the presence of individuals paid by historical enemies of the Cuban Revolution, arguing they represent an "opposition created abroad" and lack legitimacy and decorum as they have been publicly linked to known terrorists who have caused infinite pain to the Cuban people.
