CAMAGÜEY.- The Cuban political system is singular, different from others of the world, because of the leading role and popular unit in the construction of the present and national destiny, and because the Communist Party of Cuba is unique, it is not electoral, although its members - as part of the population - can be nominated and elected in the residence places, as the recruits to the armed bodies.

That's why it is not strange to find in the urban or rural district, delegates of Government that are at the same time leaders and members of the Party, communist young people, students, businessmen, peasants, officials of the FAR, of the Department of the Interior, housewives, pensioners … and up to the simplest of the Cubans, shoulder with shoulder after the well-being of the community of all.

Not for being young, the Cuban political system (1976-2017) stops being a maximum expression of participative democracy, constitutional ethics and legality, where any citizen declared capable physical and mentally to exercise the voluntary right to vote, can be nominated and chosen to represent the electorate in the municipal or provincial assemblies, and the Cuban Parliament. In the same way, he can also be revoked by the masses in case of violating the oath of allegiance, honesty and conduct that it signs when he turns out to be selected by the secret and direct suffrage of the local majority.

The present arrangements of the general elections 2017-2018 in Camagüey and all Cuba include - from September 4 until September 30 - the candidates' nomination for delegates of the municipal assemblies and the scrutinies on Sunday, October 22nd, and in case of the second turn on October 29, because none of proposed citizens achieves more than half of the valid ballots. This indicates that in the present days of August, the update of the lists of electorate, the areas creation for the postulation and the fitting out of polling stations for the execution of the suffrages are being executed, in parallel with the training of the electoral authorities in all the instances of the Popular Power.

In our province, 3 279 areas were created for the candidates' postulation to delegates, placed in approximately 871 electoral districts, with the objective that, in addition to the possible re-election of their current delegate, neighbors can also propose other capable persons who have rich trajectories in favor of the community and the Revolution in recognition to their labor and social merits.

The nomination is a decisive and very democratic step, every time the proponents, on having postulated in alive, exhibit the qualities that they consider of their candidate, in a public tribune where all the electorate has equal right to speak and vote and whose result, without doubts, it is the election of the one that obtains more raised hands.

Of the ethical and participative quality, on these assemblies depends the future success of the suffrages that will be held in 1 757 schools enabled in the whole Camagüey´s flatness. The assistance to the public acts of nomination and to the urns must be physically real, therefore the support of the organizations of mass in the neighborhoods (CDR, FMC, ACRC) and, especially the pioneering children to the electoral district commissions must be as practical as possible due to the constant population movement of these times: to bear in mind, even, the elderly, patients, hospitalized and accompanists … who want to propose and vote and, nevertheless, they can come neither to the process of nomination nor to the polling stations.

After the delegates' elections to 13 municipal assemblies for a new mandate of two years and a half, they will continue the arrangements with the postulation candidates' for the Provincial Assembly and deputies to the National Assembly of the Popular Power for a period of five years. To this renovator electoral process, from the districts up to the Cuban Parliament is named general elections.

In Camagüey, young people participates not only as delegated to the above-mentioned instances of Government, but also in the current process more than 1 000 university students, of pre-university students and of the polytechnical schools of the province intervene as authorities and collaborators of the electoral arrangements and, along with their teachers of the Law degree. Others will act as supervisors of the socialistic legality to keep immaculate the transparence and constitutional ethics that characterize the elections in Cuba.
