CAMAGUEY, CUBA.- (acn) The Cuban Workers Confederation (CTC) in the province of Camaguey called for a May Day full of joy, commitment and results, with the important presence of the youth and unity among the over 6 thousand labor groups in the territory.

Tania Diaz Bermudez, General Secretary of the labor organization in the province highlighted the main activities developed by the CTC in the political, economic and social sectors to salute International Workers Day.

One of the main motivations of the celebration is the obligation to continue the work of the leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro, whose tribute includes tours through centers and places that he inaugurated or visited in the territory, said the union leader.

She stressed that the impact of the labor movement in the 52 production sites in Camaguey dedicated to several cultivations, rice programs and animal feed among others, are in process thanks to the voluntary work of the local population including the participation of the group in 27 construction projects of social interest.

Diaz Bermudes, added that a total of 13 provincial companies will receive recognitions for their outstanding work in the national movement called “Por Las Sendas del Triunfo” (Through the Paths of Victory).

The children’s parade that precedes the rally of the people from Camaguey every year will include the presence of 3 thousand youngsters from 21 of the city’s schools that make up the Camilo Cienfuegos Pioneer Palace and will wear costumes that represent different professional occupation that are most distinguished in the territory.

The CTC also promotes decorating the work centers while calls in consolidating the actions developed in the hygiene and health campaign.

Over 200 thousand people together with family will participate in the rally at the Ignacio Agramonte Revolution Square next May 1st headed by two thousand youths from all sectors of the province.
