HAVANA.- (PL) Holguin, Cuban attractive Eastern city will be venue to the 37th International Fair of Tourism, FITCuba with well-kept hotels and natural and urban significant landscapes, highlighted sources of the sector.

Spwecialists of public relations of the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) of Cuba recalled the eve that the fair will take place from May 3 thru 6 and will hold Holguin as main scenario, dedicated to Germany as guest of honor.

Known as the City of Parks, that city in the northeastern coast of Cuba has enough attractions to satisfy participants in the meeting, the main vacation Exchange not only of Cuba, but considered among the most outstanding of Latin America.

Holguin is one of the Cuban regions most privileged for its beaches, bays and diving zones, natural landscapes and historic values.

Its proposal includes 220 places of high touristic attraction, of which 170 are linked to natural resources and 50 of socio-cultural interest.

Thus, it can offer a very varied potential and an infrastructure in development and modalities a la carte of beaches, nautical recreation and city tours.

For those reasons, over the last years have visited Holguin over two million tourists, above all from Canada, country that covers 48 percent of its market.

That nation is followed by Great Britain with 25 percent of the tourists and in a lesser number, Germany with six percent, most of them arriving by international airport Frank Pais of this city.

The environment of the province has a dense vegetation with over 700 kilometers of coast with 41 beaches, among which stand out Guardalavaca, Esmeralda and Pesquero.

The territory operates five thousand 419 rooms, the highest development of all the country, with hotel facilities of three, four and five star categories. It also displays a high biological diversity in the Sama Bay, Gibara and Guardalavaca.
