HAVANA.- (ACN) Promoting urban planning culture among the population is one of the greatest challenges this year for the physical planning system’s institution’s communication.

According to specialists of the Physical Planning Institute, those that working to carry out this objective are key actors that interact at the provincial, municipal and local levels in order for the heritage buildings to continue in time and remain as a legacy for future generations.

With this objective, the specialists evaluated the outcome in the implementation of the action plan last year from Guantanamo to Las Tunas provinces allowing them to identify the problems, learn the good methods and project the actions of the institution’s communication plans for 2017.

Gisela Dominguez, head of the IPF’s International Cooperation Department and Public Relations said that physical planning is one of the issues included at the 7th Congress of the Cuban Communist Party due to its priority in the country and its territorial and urban reorganization.

She added that the personnel that assist the population has an important role to give out information and orientation on aspects that refers to construction or reparation of their homes. However, the population is still not satisfied with office assistance.

Gisela added that training of their leaders and specialists that respond to the communication sector is required in addition to the valuable support of the mass media at all levels.

The physical planners has the responsibility of taking care of the country, meaning the land and to make sure that each space is used correctly, she added.

Where ever there is an investment, it is developed but the land with an agricultural perspective must be preserved what is we are the guards of its correct use which is also analyzed by trained specialists that work with the right plans, she said.
