HAVANA.- The sessions of the International Congress, Pedagogia 2017,continue today in this capital with a special conference on education to eliminate slavery and child exploitation by Nobel Peace Prize for 2014, India's Kailash Satyarthi.

Also Cuban Higher Education Minister, Jose Ramon Saborido, will give a lecture on the challenges, results and projections from the integration between this level of education and the development of the country, according to the scientific program for today.

Teachers and journalists worldwide participated yesterday in the special panel “Fidel Castro, educator of hope”, in which they assessed the ideas about education of the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution.

Courses, specialized visits to Cuban educational centers of different teachings, symposia and special lectures by personalities such as Brazilian theologian, Frei Betto, are among the activities of this congress.

Pedagogia 2017 will run until February 3rd with the participation of about 775 Cuban delegates and more than 2,000 foreigners. According to Cuban Deputy Education Minister, Cira Piñeiro, this is the most important congress of this kind held in the region.
