Assemblyman Reed Guscio said: "one of the main problems that threaten the normalization of relations between Cuba and the United States are Cuban-Americans who oppose this process to flow."

Cuban deputy Lazaro Barredo insisted on the need to end the blockade, as well as the return of the territory illegally occupied by the Guantanamo naval base, so that relations can be considered normal.

He also emphasized the need to respect the sovereignty, independence and the right  of every country to choose its political system.

Both visitorand hosts agreed on the need for the American people better knowing Cubareality, because, as stated from the Cuban side: "It is not possible in the age of global information they not know much about our history, traditions and characteristics despite being geographically so close. "
